Melbourne Tigers v's NBL..

September 21st 2008 23:54
Melbourne Tigers v's NBL, like the title says its just like that, 10 teams in the league and one stands out front on its own, in a different league, cant tell me that there under the $810,000 salary cap, it is bullshit, league needs to have ballance, and just as i predicted the league is being completely redrawn next season and i needs it though this season is going to be very ugly, Brians Goorjian 700th game in charge last night and boy did it look bad, both teams gave about 80 percent and as perdicted, Cortez with his famous turnovers, and if it wasn't turning the ball over it was 3 pointers with a hand in his face, still cant see how Goorjian and Groves mix, one hate's turnovers and one just does it, the South Dragons won the game in the end with Wildcats looking the stronger team, a lot of teams will take time to gel or we can only hope.....

Sydney Spirit..

July 14th 2008 12:23
What a few weeks it has been, almost every day there has been something to report, the NBL has never been so much in the spotlight, and its the offseason !!!.. I will start with the newest addition to Sydney and the only addition, the Sydney Spirit, i must say it sounds like a WNBL team, come on guys can't you think of something more manly, i can't see any die hard King or Razorback fan following this, speaking as a die hard Sydney king supporter, i think its bullshit, you's better get busy signing BIG players for this coming season or you will surely look like girls, Jason Smith has today signed for the club, though i don't see him playing for a while, i'd say 2 to 3 months into the season, any earlier and the injury will just come back, good luck.... Cairns Taipans have signed Canadian International Dave Thomas, more court time and a bigger role, i expect Dave to shine in 08, good work.... Melbourne Tigers, have signed Sam Mackinnon for the following season, solid allround player but will he stay uninjured, wait and find out.... South Dragons, have signed oww are Ebi Ere for next season, what a gamble, with Cortez Groves and Ebi Ere playing together, it will either be a disaster or could become a allstar type season, expect a lot of dunks, boys just work on your turn overs...

Hero 2 Zero..

July 14th 2008 11:12
Another great icon falls, the Brisbane Bullets have joined the Sydney Kings on the terminated list for next season, amazing how 2 big time clubs have gone from hero to zero in a short space of time, with these 2 teams no longer in the NBl, it will have a major impact on the league, and the popularty of basketball in australia could dwindle, sad but true fact, we have to get over it, start from scratch and never let this thing ever happen again, the NBL season MUST change for next season or this could be a disaster, on another note, Townsville Crocodiles have signed previously unemployed, Russel Hinder for next season..

Nathan Jawai..

June 27th 2008 13:14
Nathan Jawai, has entered the 2008 NBA Draft and has been selected in the second round, number 41 overall for the Indiana Pacers, though the former Carins Taipan Jawai is going to be traded to the Toronto Raptors, well done Nathan ,deals like this in the NBA is a common accorance, though this does not mean that he will be playing for the Raptors or NBA, he still has to prove himself in training camps and pre-season games with the big boys, many people get drafted and soon after cut, draftee's could even end up in Europe or NBA development league, Nathan is a great prospect and i beleive he should of been selected from 5-20 instead of 41, US Colleges/Schools are the best way of being noticed for the NBA, also i remember saying that if Boston Celtics have home advantage they would win the NBA trophy, well done me!, back to the NBL, Woolongong Hawks have signed back x Hawk x King Glen Saville and also signed Anthony Petrie from the West Sydney Razorbacks, the only remainding Sydney team, South Dragons have taken a backward step with the signing of x hawk Cortez Groves and Adam Gibson, What are you guys thinking, Singapore Slingers, have continued to be a joke in the league, Sydney Kings, what Sydney Kings, Tim Johnston, i know were you live, Australian Boomers, Brian Goorjian, if you play College players in the olympics you will loose, simple as that, euro players are best suited, eg Damian Ryan, David Anderson etc, proven experienced players = SUCCESS.

Kings Terminated.

June 12th 2008 09:24
The NBL confirmed today that the Sydney Kings licence has been terminated, the National Basketball League gave ( wanker businessman ) Tim Johnston a deadline to pay his players, coaches and general staff their outstanding wages, or your licence will be terminated, a time period which has since passed, the former owner of the Sydney Kings Mike Wrublewski has been tring to take over the club but the NBL has rejected that because of not submitting a suitable plan, Mr Wrublewski wants the NBl to go back to a summer League like it was 15 years ago, he also wants teams to go back to 1 club 1 city, it was thought to be more sucessful back then, the Kings licence atm will return to the NBL and will now negotiate with potental buyers, the Sydney Kings is beleived to be in debt of around 1.5 million dollars, i cant see the club in next years competition being the takeover time is too short, and not enough time for a suitable plan, how can a top team over the last 6 years suddenly disappear, what bull shit.

May / June Update 2

June 4th 2008 16:43
Update 2......... Melbourne Tigers, with there trading so far i can not see the tiger retaining the title next season, only a top 3 or 4 team, Ian Stacker, why did you disgrade yourself, your a head coach not an assistant, plenty of work out there, Rod Grizzard has signed for the tigers for next season, very good fundamentals and can also shoot the 3, good work Melbourne............ South Dragons, Nick Horvath, has great potential to turn into a great player under Brian Goorjian, if the remainding players from last years squad turn into reliable player, i can only see them winning everything.......... Gold Coast Blaze, its Hammer time, big news for the blaze with the signing of Shane Hammer Heal, though i only give them top 4 / 5 for next season........ Adelaide 36ers, i am very interested to see how this team will play together, will it be like last season, good on paper, not good on court....... New Zealand Breakers, just signed CJ bruton and Dillon Bucher for next season, i give them top 4 for next, though it will depend on who they sign as imports....... West Sydney Razorbacks, no stand outs for me, no import signings, whole team atm would have to play with heart and thats hard to do night in night out....... Sydney Kings, Tim Johnson aka ( Bouncy checks ) your a disgrace, i just hope that the club does not fold, Neil Mottram has signed for the kings, good pick up, what sydney need, smart and reliable......... Wollongong Hawks, have signed Isiah Victor for 08/09, well done hawks, motivated player and very good fundamentals, though hawks will remain near bottom, sorry boys........ Singapore Slingers, what a joke, would this team be competive playing state league, i would think not, who is Sam Harris? man hes tall but can he play, time wil tell, cant see Singapore finishing better than Last place, i will be placing money on this team finishing as wooden spooners fro newt season.

May / June Update

June 4th 2008 15:46
May/June Update, Lets start with the Perth Wildcats, just signed x West Sydney guard Darnel Hinson for 2 years, good exciting player though a little selfish, too many turnovers, not what the Wildcats need, i was fearing they would not sign a successful coach, oh well there is always 2009 / 2010, i see Perth dropping 2 spots from last season...... Townville Crocodiles, the excitment machine has returned for next season ( Corey Williams ) aka Homiside, Rosell Ellis has also signed, good solid player though a little slow, just hope he stays healthy.......Brisbane Bullets, Eddie Groves, buddy whats going on, selling your club should be as easy as ABC, can see the bullets making the top 8, big jump from last season, Cam Rigby has signed for the bullets, how many nbl clubs have you played for now Cam?....... Cairns Taipans, you guys better hope that Nathan Jawai stays at Cairns for next season, he is very valuable and is only going to get better as time goes on, though good luck with the nba draft, i hope you make the big time.

NBA Finals

June 4th 2008 02:59
NBA, Just a quick plug on the NBA, feels good to speak your mind, and i will start at the San Antonio Spurs, or as i like to put it, the Dirty Spurs, any team that applies the hack"a"shaq is regarded in my books as Filthy, Cheating and Dirty, the way some of the team played in the finals was disgraceful, come on boys its basketball not soccer, nor is it hollywood, has Gregg Popovich been sending you guys to acting school, the ones that mainly come to mind are Manu Ginobili and Robert Horry, its a disgrace to the sport, how can a team with so much talent play like that..... LA Lakers v Boston Celtics final, i am leaning towards boston only because of their 4 game home court advantage, what a series this is going to be, fair and tough.....

NBL Club Profiles...

April 7th 2008 17:23
My club profiles..... Lets start with the Wollongong Hawks - One more season to get it right, haven't seen the best from Eric Cooks as he hasn't had the players to work with, Cameron Tragardh has just signed a 3 year deal with the Hawks, ok he won the most improved player last season, just can't see him in the starting 5...... West Sydney Razorbacks - Keep training hard cause you guy's are clickin, hard work does pay off, expect a good season ahead..... Adelaide 36ers - Cant work with what you got, wrong cards have been dealt, reshuffle, sack, trade, do what you gotta do, Lanard Copeland should have retired years ago, his time has long gone, Jacob Holmes returning home to Adelaide, should give the 36rs a needed boost, Luke Schenscher, big hype and over-rated, sure he played in the NBA but where is he now, can't even make it in Europe, good luck Adelaide..... Brisbane Bullets - Does the Team and Staff give 110% even if there are pay cut's? wait and see, CJ Bruton, does the c stand for casual? you can play a hell of a lot harder than what you do on the court, try some Red Bull, it gives you wings..... Gold Coast Blaze - Relied too much on their imports last year..... Singapore Slingers - Were they cost cutting last season? now that you saved money, go and spend it for this season for the fan's sake..... Townsville Crocodiles - Was this a one man show, was good to watch, but did it win you guy's anything, the game is simple, spread the points, one supplementary ain't gonna win you the lotto..... Cairns Taipans - On paper it sounds real good, hard season last year, a lot of injuries, not enough time together, given they train hard and be healthy throughout the season, this team can blow any club out of the water..... New Zealand Breakers - Team must have a good scout as they always manage to sign super imports, the player roster looks very impressive on paper, this team should be getting it done on the floor, is it time for Andrej Lemanis to step down as coach?..... South Dragons - The club has suffered a big loss with Jacob Holmes returning home to Adelaide.... Perth Wildcats - Awesome crowd, big reason why they win a lot of games at home, well the year before last anyway, just hope they select a good coach.... Melbourne Tigers - They are big in size and have some serious fire power, though if they dont sign a good guard i rule them out at a repeat championship, would Al Westover be successful at another club like Townsville etc? or is it all about the players at the Tigers..... and last Sydney Kings - Will never be the same again, scared, Tim Johnston please Firepower yourself out of Sydney, do it for me, the fans, and MOST importantly YOURSELF......
